On June 2nd, in the name of Eddy Merckx in Rivalta di Brentino Belluno at 9.00 a.m. one can choose between the Granfondo with a course of 148 kms and the Mediofondo measuring 90kms. In addition to that a Gourmet course of 40kms will be available for fine palates that can taste the vines of Cantine Aliprandi and Albino Armani.

An overcrowded room on Monday 30 March, many vips and a great enthusiasm for the presentation of  “Granfondo Eddy Merckx”, the greatest cyclist ever, taking part to this presentation together with old road mates like: Luciano Soave, Pietro Guerra, Severino Andreoli and others. Eddy Merckx, a unique humility person, thanks heartily. He’ll be riding as well on 2nd June in those “enchanting places with a great cycling culture”.  

A.P.G. Giordana could count on prestigious testimonials like: Mario Cipollini (he explained: “I was called Re Leone (The Lion King) as my hair was long like a lion’s mane. He then adds about the young riders: “It’s necessary to change attitude towards them as they’re only told to make sacrifices, make a lot of training, do not to eat too much, no women, no going out at night, so why should a person ride? But sacrifices are done little by little and until the juniores category , cycling should only be fun for the guys and their parents”),  the technical commissioner of Italbici, Franco Ballerini (talking to the young boys and girls attending the presentation he said: “ Have fun, but pursue a dream on the bike in order to be more motivated and put the maximum enthusiasm in everyhing you do. If you love what you’re doing, it means putting great care in everything without neglecting school”) and the olympic MTB championship Paola Pezzo.

The Federation managers also participated: Flavio Milani- National Vice President,  Bruno Capuzzo – regional president - and Gianluca Liber – president of the province. From UDACE, the president of the province Gianpietro Mantovanelli, and the administrative authorities Virgilio Asileppi and Federico Sboarina. Even a former football player like Fabrizio Ravanelli states that he found a new passion with the bike, and he’ll also take part to the race on 2nd June.
